FAQ: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. How many miles/how long does Slow Roll ride?

We usually ride about 10 miles and at about an 8-10mph pace it takes us 2 to 3 hours to complete the ride.

2. What do I need to do to bring?

Just a working bike, a good attitude and a smile, although it is best to come prepared with an extra tube, patch kit, helmet, lights, snacks and water.

3. Are helmets required?

No, but they are more than encouraged, it's just the safest way to ride a bike.

4. Do I need to register or does it cost anything?

No, all Slow Roll Chicago Signature Rides on Wednesday evenings are FREE, so all you have to do is show up. In the event you would like to volunteer and/or contribute, you can donate here or contact Co-Founder Olatunji Oboi Reed and Jamal Julien via phone at 708-831-3570 or via email at info (at) slowrollchicago (dot) org. And, you can always show your support for Slow Roll by supporting the places we start and stop at, buy a drink, purchase some food and just have a good time. Also, Slow Rollers are encouraged to support our fine sponsors. We all win!

6. Where is the next meeting place or when is the next ride?

Please join our Facebook Group where we post ride details and updates on a regular basis. You can also follow us on Twitter and Instagram to receive updated ride information. Our rides take place all over the City in a different neighborhood every week.

7. What time does Slow Roll start?

Our 2016 Signature Ride Series on Wednesday evenings always meets at 6:30pm and rides at 7pm.

8. Where do I park?

A lot of people drive in for Slow Roll Chicago rides, so getting there early may be an advantage. We try and make sure there are nearby parking options, though in Chicago this can sometimes be challenging. BE SMART, THIS IS CHICAGO, DO NOT LEAVE THINGS IN YOUR CAR, especially don't leave things of value in plain sight.

9. How long is the Slow Roll season?

We ride from May to October (give or take), but don’t worry we will have other rides and events in the off season as well.
